Charging plaza maintenance

Clean, safe and presentable around the charging points — while people are charging.

A charging plaza is not a filling station

Refuelling takes three minutes. Charging takes twenty minutes to an hour — and people look around while they wait. That changes what maintenance has to deliver: on a charging plaza every weed, every full bin and every broken kerb gets noticed, simply because people have time to see it.

At the same time the work is harder to plan. Charging points are occupied, cables run across the bay, and you do not want a visitor waiting because a trailer is parked in front of the charger. So our crews work around occupied spaces and take the free bays as they open up.

VESTA handles all outdoor maintenance for charging plazas: site cleaning, greenery, waste collection and minor repairs, in the same fixed rounds as our filling station locations.

Work around the charging points

Bays and walkways

Sweeping and blowing parking bays, charging islands and walkways, with attention to cable ducts and edges.

Keeping chargers clean

Cleaning housings, screens and lettering so displays stay readable and the site looks cared for.

Greenery and weeds

Pesticide-free weed control around posts, joints and verges; mowing and pruning with clear sight lines.

Waste

Emptying bins and picking litter — especially worthwhile where people stay longer.

Minor repairs

Loose slabs, damaged corner guards and leaning bollards are fixed during the round.

Flagging lighting faults

Faulty lighting and damage are recorded with photos so you can have them fixed specifically.

Maintenance that stays out of the charging experience

The big difference from other site maintenance is occupancy. On a charging plaza the bays are full precisely at the attractive moments. So we plan flexibly: the crew works the free bays, returns to the occupied ones, and uses equipment that can be moved aside within a minute.

Electric tools are not a choice here but a requirement. People are sitting in their cars next to where you work; a petrol leaf blower two metres away is the last thing an operator wants.

For operators with several plazas we apply the same rhythm everywhere. After each round you see in the app what was done and what was noticed — from a damaged charging point to a dip in the asphalt.

Charging plaza maintenance

How do you work around occupied charging points?
We work the free bays and come back to the occupied ones. Equipment is positioned so it can be cleared within a minute when someone drives up.
Do you clean the chargers themselves?
The housings, screens and lettering, so displays stay readable. We do not touch the technology itself; faults are recorded and reported.
Can you cover charging plazas and filling stations in one contract?
Yes. Many operators have both. The same crews, the same schedule and the same reporting across all locations.
How do you handle weeds around the posts?
Mechanically and thermally, without pesticides. Around cable ducts and post bases we work by hand to avoid damage.
